Call for interns

We offer an exciting opportunity to get involved in the running of the SPEKTRUM independent project space in Berlin through an internship of 3+ months (from April 2018 onwards). Ideally, this internship should take place as part of your studies.

By collaborating with us, you will gain an understanding of the processes and strategies involved in the direction and production of a wide variety of events focused on the intersection of science, art and technology and of our community program, which brings together people from various backgrounds in an atmosphere of creative and collaborative exchange and experimentation. You will learn more about the experimental questions beyond the contemporary urgency in applying scientific knowledge to artistic practice.

Tasks include:

  • Curating and researching the program focused on the intersection of science, art and technology being developed at SPEKTRUM
  • Support in promotion and communication activities (including content management and social media outreach)
  • Various other activities involved in the daily running of a project space (technical setup for events, assisting communities and more)

Specific areas of interest could be, but are not limited to: bio art, experimental video and music, hacktivism, live media performances, sound art, gender and queer culture, digital arts and new media.

Besides enthusiasm and fascination for attempts to use technology as a creative medium, we are looking for people currently studying within fields closely related to this internship. Knowledge of German is not mandatory, but fluency in writing and communicating in English is required. Basic skills in data entry, video editing, graphic design and content management are preferred.

We are looking for long-term interns with an availability of 3+ months. The position includes free access to the cultural program of the space and its facilities. To apply, please send your resume and short motivation letter to
