- Workshops between 14:00 - 18:00
- Entrance: Arduino+Processing Bootcamp: open donation
- Electro-Acoustic Sound Art Introduction: suggested donation of 15 euro in support of our lab
We present an afternoon of workshops from our SPEKTRUM workshop program to raise funds for the final work on the new makerlab at Spektrum. The makerlab will enhance the creative possibilities of the many Spektrum communities and enable them to start creating their own artworks for exhibiting. Come along, support and let us co-create our way to the future!
14:00 - 16:00
Arduino + Processing Bootcamp
This will be a introduction about these two open source platforms, where participants will try out some basic examples combining physical computing and generative visuals.
No technical skills required, bring your laptop with Arduino and Processing installed. Also if you have, bring your Arduino board with a breadboard.

Electro-Acoustic Sound Art Introduction
In this two hour introduction Verónica Mota will present the most fundamental historical background of electro-acoustic composition and sound art production. We will learn some theoretical aspects as well as some live examples of excellent composers who were pioneers in the electro-acoustic sound art field such as Delia Derbyshire, Halim El-Dadh & John Cage. In this journey we will also explore electro-acoustic music, tape music, musique concrete and electronically generated (synthetic) sounds. After this introduction we will continue with a technological workshop in the coming weeks in which we will learn how to produce electro-acoustic sound art using analogue machinery, computer software, samples, text, voices overs, and self-made recordings.
After the introduction you will be able to start a creative map for an electro-acoustic sound art work inspired by the theoretical ideas given. This first draft will be develop and finish at the technological workshop where you will learn the skills to bring your ideas into a concrete sound art work. When your piece is done it might be selected and play at the radio program Resonance Extra focus on sound art & experimental music in London. Plus, you will get a certificate of participation credited by Urban Arts Berlin.
