The beginner can be facing the question, where do I start and how do I make things look good and professional? In-depth Adobe Photoshop workshop is made for beginners — it aims to teach the basics. From scratch, through mini projects and tips on how Photoshop works, it will benefit your design work and aid your imagination.
You will leave with the confidence to use a large number of tools, in a professional way. Bring your laptop and Photoshop CS6 or CC already installed (preferably the English version). Adobe offers a free 7 day trial version of Photoshop which can be used during the course. Session Overview We will have a close look at the very basics of Photoshop by examining the user interface, document types and setup, the difference between vector and bitmap images, RGB and CMYK color modes.
We will go into tools and pallets, layers and history. Then we will move on to more functions like the selection tools, adjustments on photography, mastering and cropping. We will be working with type tool, learning how to work with color, masks and paths. At the end of session participants will work on their own ideas, brainstorm and get help and inspiration for their future projects.
After the workshop you will be able to:
- edit and adjust your pictures with Adobe Photoshop
- use Photoshop selection tools to cut out images from photos
- organise your Photoshop files with layers - re-colour icons and logos
- work properly with the history feature
- crop your pictures perfectly and transform wobbly camera angles
- apply Photoshop effects
- save your artwork in appropriate formats and sizes

Irina Spicaka is a Berlin-based UX/UI Designer experienced in Research for MVP, Competitor Analysis, User Testing, Copywriting, Search Engine Optimisation, Art Direction, Branding, Print and Styleguide Design, UI Component and Kit Design for Apps, SaaS and Websites. As an Artist she tends to combine Design, Art and Technology to create Interactive Installations. Irina teaches Software skills, User Experience and Interface Design and organises Creative Coding workshops.
