Let's do a little spring cleaning, poke at the Lasersaur, try out our new vinyl cutter, and talk plans for the summer! I'm just back from Mongolia where I made a nomadic light art project using Polycon connectors that were 3D printed in the lab. I'll bring some of the new Mangtronix light modules so you can get a sneak peek before the exhibition in June!
Thrills! Excitement! Open source machines for digital fabrication! That's right, it's another build session with MadeByUs. More details when we see where we're at with the build. One thing we can promise though... it will be exciting!
Please come help building the Lasersaur. The electronics are almost wired..... soon the Lasersaur will start to move! No experience required. We're building an open-source DIY laser cutter together that will become the means of our own production!
Why not start the New Year by learning new tools to incorporate into your practice? You will finish this workshop with an overview of how to combine 3D modeling for 3D printing. After taking information from the physical world, you will learn how to input it into Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, then print it out back into the physical. You will leave this workshop with a model that you have designed and printed yourself!
